Morocco-Italy: Mutual Recognition of Driving Licenses Agreement

The governments of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Italian Republic have inked a landmark agreement in Rome on Wednesday for the mutual recognition of driving licenses, facilitating their conversion between the two nations.

The agreement was signed by Mr. Youssef Balla, the Ambassador of His Majesty the King to the Italian Republic, and Mr. Matteo Salvini, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport of Italy, in the presence of the Deputy Minister responsible for maritime transport.

During the signing ceremony at the Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, Mr. Salvini expressed his admiration for Morocco's notable progress and economic growth in the realms of road, rail, and port infrastructure.

He called for a deeper bilateral relationship in connectivity, highlighting the investment opportunities that the Kingdom offers.

On his part, Mr. Balla emphasized that this agreement reflects the Moroccan government's steadfast and ongoing commitment, guided by the High Directions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the Sovereign's utmost care for the Moroccan community members.

He added that this new legal tool enriches the framework of excellent cooperation and partnership between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Italian Republic across various areas of mutual interest.
